Advertising Options
CHIMA offers commericial advertising and job advertising options.
Commercial advertising can be done through the LASER and on the CHIMA website. The Laser is the official newsletter of the Colorado Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) and is distributed electronically to approximately 700-800 members.
Payment. CHIMA is a volunteer non-profit organization, and appreciates pre-payment at the time of placement of the order. Orders of $50 or less must be prepaid. For larger orders, CHIMA will invoice and bill the organization, if requested. CHIMA accepts checks and credit cards.
COMMERCIAL ADVERTISING RATES IN THE LASER
The LASER is the official newsletter of the Colorado Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) and has a distribution of 700-800 copies quarterly. Publication dates are: December, March, June, and September. Submission dates are the 15th of the preceding months: November, February, May, and August.
Commercial Advertising. Advertisers submit advertisements electronically in the body of an e-mail, as an attachment to an e-mail. Commercial advertisements must be submitted in electronic format using Microsoft Word or JPEG format. CHIMA may add the words “paid advertisement” at the top or bottom of the ad. Advertisement content that is to run for consecutive issues may be changed at any time during the year at no additional charge.

JOB POSTING RATES IN THE LASER
Job postings are printed in text across the full width of the paper. Basic charge per ad per issue is $30 for up to six lines of text. Add an additional $4 per line for each additional line over 6 lines. In the event the advertiser prefers to buy a portion of a page and submit an ad with graphics or copy other than simple text, then please refer to the commercial advertising rates above.
COMMERCIAL ADVERTISING ON THE CHIMA WEBSITE
There are two types of advertising on the CHIMA website: banner advertising and page sponsorship. Banner advertising may be placed on the Calendar, Leadership or Links pages. Page sponsorship may be placed on any page and will be listed at the bottom of the page.
Advertisers submit advertisements electronically in the body of an e-mail or as an attachment. All pages with an advertisement will have a disclaimer that CHIMA is not endorsing the product or service.

Changes made to an advertisement during the time it is running will incur an additional fee of $15 per incident to cover the costs of making the changes; multiple changes may be made per each incident.
JOB ADVERTISING ON THE CHIMA JOB BANK
There are three ways to advertise a job opening: the CHIMA website Job Bank, a special e-mail broadcast to the membership, and the newsletter (the Laser). Since the newsletter comes out quarterly, and organizations usually want to fill vacancies quickly, we recommend advertising in the newsletter only if the publication date is near or if the organization anticipates several months to collect applications and fill the position, perhaps because the position is hard to fill or is a high level position that will entail a months-long search.
The best way to reach the most people most quickly is to post the advertisement on the website Job Bank, accompanied by a special e-mail broadcast to the membership with the details of the position.
Web posting on the CHIMA website Job Bank: $45 per month
(This charge includes a generic monthly e-mail broadcast to the membership that will indicate that there are new jobs posted on the website and that they should log onto the website to check them out. The e-mail broadcast itself will not carry details about your job, but will only remind members that they should look on the web.)
Special e-mail broadcast to the membership: $80 per broadcast
(This e-mail broadcast will be restricted to your message alone, and can carry all the text and details of the job that you write for the ad, to be delivered directly into the e-mail boxes of members. This special broadcast can include a link to your website or contact person.)
Special e-mail broadcast to the membership when ordered in conjunction with a posting on the website Job Bank: $40 per broadcast(discounted 50% from the regular $80 fee)
Job Opening Advertising Policy
BROADCAST E-MAILS
The cost is $80 per e-mail broadcast.
Advertisers send the text of the broadcast to the office coordinator, who emails the message to the CHIMA members. Advertisers may include a link to their organization website or contact person. The e-mail broadcast will include a disclaimer from CHIMA indicating that the broadcast is a paid advertisement and that CHIMA is not endorsing the product or service.
